Impact
During exploratory data analysis, significant insights were discovered:
- There was a significant increase in car prices in Belarus after the year 2000.
- Cars running on petrol with automatic transmission have higher prices compared to diesel cars with manual transmission.
- Electric cars are distinctively more expensive than other cars.
- Cars with all-wheel drive have the highest prices among all drive units.
- Specialty segment cars have the highest prices among all segments, followed by luxury European, American, and Asian car segments.
The project utilized a decision tree regressor model to predict car prices, achieving an accuracy rate of 85.29%. The most influential features for predicting car prices were found to be the year of production and the engine's volume in cubic centimeters.
This project offers valuable insights for both car buyers and sellers in Belarus, aiding them in making informed decisions in the dynamic automotive market.
